CIEDM Dedication to Environmental/Climate Justice & Safety @ Arcadia Ecohome

June is a special month for observances of environmental and climate justice and safety for all in the history of humanity and human rights. In the US, June is National Immigrant Heritage Month and National Safety Month, and June 19 marks Juneteenth, a day symbolizing the end of slavery in America. Globally, June is Environment Month with the UN declared World Environment Day on June 5, Refugee Week is on June 15-21 and June 20 is World Refugee Day, also an UN officially designated international observance. CIEDM, as an environmental grassroots concerning about the environmental and climate impacts on disadvantaged groups and communities and the increasing number of climate refugees and relocatees, is taking following actions to take part in those above mentioned the global and national awareness campaigns: 1. A cleanup of the Arcadia Ecohome Microforest, including its individual gardens and mini-groves and adjoining sidewalk garden and public streets, all participated by our gardener crew, to maintain the overall and unique landscape design features. 2. A detail checkup-fixup of all environmental art installations throughout each gardens and groves in the Microforest. 3. An online educational campaign mainly through social media to raise public awareness of those campaigns and what we do as a local grassroots to support the national and global events.
