Composer-pianist Eric Genuis brings his Concerts for Hope series to North St. Louis for three Juneteenth weekend performances directly benefiting neighborhoods within the historic Greater Ville and surrounding North City corridor. Genuis, known for performing in prisons, rehabilitation centers, and underserved communities worldwide, leads a classical chamber ensemble featuring violin, cello, and soprano through original compositions that move from lament to triumph. The Friday evening and Saturday matinee and evening shows at Power Creative create a ticketed cultural offering in a part of St. Louis long underserved by mainstream concert venues, with proceeds reinvested in North City programming. The performance honors Juneteenth's themes of liberation and renewal through accessible classical music in a community whose cultural infrastructure has been steadily rebuilt by Black-led organizations.
