3rd Annual Juneteenth Freedom Day Ride

📍 Mercer County Park Festival Grounds, 1638 Old Trenton Rd, West Windsor Township, NJ 08550📅 June 20, 2026

About This Event

The Juneteenth Freedom Day Ride brings cyclists from across the tri-state area together to celebrate emancipation with a group ride through seven Mercer County towns, passing historically significant African American sites including churches, schools, and Underground Railroad stops that shaped Black freedom in central New Jersey. Riders convene at Mercer County Park, just outside Trenton, before rolling out as a unified peloton. The ride concludes with a reception folded into the 4th Annual Juneteenth Festival presented by the African American Cultural Collaborative of Mercer County, featuring live music, food trucks, vendors, and a reserved area for cycling clubs. Presented by Let's Cycle NJ and the Samuel McCoy III Scholarship Fund, the event honors both Juneteenth and the legacy of Black cycling pioneers like Major Taylor.

What to expect at a Juneteenth cultural program

Cultural programs go deeper than festivals — think curated exhibits, panel discussions, gallery talks, dance performances, oral history projects, and film screenings. They’re generally shorter (1 to 3 hours) and ticketed venues often waive admission for Juneteenth. Dress is typically smart casual. These programs are excellent first Juneteenth experiences for visitors who want context before joining a parade or block party.
